Ocular trauma may cause a variety of injuries to anterior segment structures. In angle-recession, the injury causes a tear into the ciliary body, and caused the iris insertion to appear posterior.
In cyclodialysis, the ciliary body avulsion from its attachment to scleral spur allows aqueous to flow from the anterior chamber across the cleft into the ciliochoroidal space. This may result in hypotony.
