“The Miracle Worker” Theater Benefit a Hit for The New York Eye and Ear Infirmary Vision for and from Children project
New York, NY (January 2010) -- A special benefit performance of “The Miracle Worker,” the beloved stage play about young Helen Keller and which has returned to Broadway for its 50th anniversary, brought together more than a hundred theatergoers and supporters of The New York Eye and Ear Infirmary in a moving matinee and luncheon on Sunday, March 7.
Proceeds went to Vision for and from Children at The New York Eye and Ear Infirmary, a fund created by the hospital’s unique young Ambassador, ten-year-old Lillian Pravda.
In addition, the related “Shop for a Cause” event continues through the month of March. Sponsors include Pravda Abbigliamento, Optyx by Gruen and Judith Ripka Jewelry. These luxury retailers will donate 10% of your purchases to Vision For and From Children. Funds raised will be used in support of equipment and staff needs for pediatric ophthalmology and orthoptics.
